While for most Christmas is on the brain, the wonderful world of Hollywood is already focusing on the upcoming new year. Why? With award season around the corner, its most coveted institutions are currently looking to unveil their highly-anticipated nominations lists, and the Golden Globes are the latest name to do so. And, after a year filled with stellar releases and binge-worthy shows, the list is as exciting as expected.

With the show of 2021, Squid Game, being awarded three nominations, including “Best TV Series – Drama” it became clear that The Hollywood Foreign Press Association have taken into consideration online hype and Netflix-released statistics when crafting their list. Also joining Squid Game are titles such as Maid, Dune and King Richard, all of whom are up for the title of ‘Best’ in their respective categories. When it comes to performances, Lady Gaga’s display in House of Gucci is being honoured by her nomination for “Best Actress – Drama” as well as the likes of Elizabeth Olsen receiving her first-ever Golded Globes nod with a nomination for “Best Actress in a Limited Series” following her performance in Wanda Vision.

With names such as Leonardo Dicaprio, Mahershala Ali, Kristen Stweart and Emma Stone also making their way onto the list, it becomes evident that greatness is to be celebrated at the upcoming 79th Golden Globes, and we cannot wait to see who walks away with awards.
