Arran Sym has got us all feeling some kind of way with his new track “Fire on Me”. Built across a dark and hypnotic lo-fi anthem with a satisfyingly catchy beat and poetic vocals, the track showcases Arran’s versatility not only as an artist, but as a producer and instrumentalist.

Cut to the centre, and you’ve got a girl at its heart, “Unsure of what she wants and me gaining the self-confidence to not accept the energy and pressure that she is putting on me. It was a song that was created in a moment of flow state. I started with the main synth baseline and drums and then added some guitars and vocal harmonies,” the artist revealed.

Scottish-born and Japan-based, Arran has been a producer on a number of global hip-hop tracks over the years, but since making the move to Japan, it’s his own music he’s been focusing on now. His first EP, “1000 Micrograms of Love” gained Arran a successful debut, with “Fire on Me” marking the first single off his upcoming album Beauty Valley, set to be released at the end of November. Keep your eyes peeled on this one, he’s one to watch.
