While the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory storyline is known worldwide, the new film is set to follow the tale of a young Willy Wonka before the establishment of his chocolate factory. And, as hinted towards in the Johnny Depp version of the infamous story, it is likely to focus on the chocolatier’s relationship with his estranged father.

With Timothée Chalamet set to follow in the steps of Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp, the cast already presents itself as one to remember. But, with the likes of Rowan Atkinson, Olivia Colman and Matt Lucas all set to star alongside him, the cast becomes star-studded in nature.

With the film currently in the primary stages of production, it has been set for release on 17th March 2023, meaning that we have quite the wait ahead of us.
