ARLISTON

Everyone has those moments whereby, plugging in some headphones and tuning out from the world is the motive, and trio Arliston are making us do just this with their alt-pop single “Centre”. Taking a new experimental approach in their new song, the trio offers up a staggeringly brilliant single that effortlessly showcases their production ability and lyrical prowess. Between Jack’s emotive and distinctive vocals and George’s signature guitar strings, the group usher themselves into uncharted territory while being led by Jordi’s heart-pounding drums.

Speaking on their latest release, the group revealed, “Before ‘Centre’ we’d never worked with another producer; having to explain ourselves had an unexpected effect on what came out. The identity of the ‘Centre’ is still very much “Arliston” at its core, but the fresh approach and bold textures took the project to an entirely new place that we were surprised and delighted to arrive at. ’Centre’ is a song about getting your priorities wrong and subsequently having to sacrifice something precious.”

Spending the past 18 months in the studio working on new music, the group teases that they pushed their boundaries during the lockdown, while developing their sound and themselves. With a debut EP not too far on the horizon, we say expect the unexpected.
