If you haven’t noticed, everyone is currently in the UK and that can only be for one reason: Wireless Festival. Kicking off on Friday, the festival saw the likes of Migos and Future hitting the stage in Crystal Palace and putting on a rapturous show. After two years of Covid limbo, the festival relocated to a new home in south London for its three-day carnival filled with hip-hop, grime, drill and R&B. Known for their surprise performances, Certified Lover Boy Drake made an appearance during Future’s Friday headline set, stating that he knew his first show back would at to be at Wireless Festival.

From Megan Thee Stallion’s booty bouncin’ performance to Central Cee’s control of the crowd, the festival saw an array of explosive energetic performances that commanded the crowd’s attention.

But of course, one of the main highlights from the weekend was Nando’s backstage tent which saw the likes of Maya Jama and Swae Lee rubbing shoulders while eating some delicious PERi-PERi chicken. Throughout the weekend, comedian Mo Gillian, M Huncho, Digga D and southeast London’s very own Ms Banks, all headed down to the coveted tent and put in their orders. But no one came close to Drake as he put in a huge order consisting of 500 wings, 250 things, and 150 garlic bread.

With Atlanta rapper Young Thug sharing the stage with a spider and “Stir Fry” rappers Migos taking us to the tropics, the festival pulled out all the stops and put on a Hollywood-sized production filled with charisma and showmanship. Is it too much to ask for one extra day from Wireless, because we were left wanting more!
