Who else is loving this unexpected heatwave? While many of us had been running up the sad boy September anthems, artist Ossai wants to get you back into the summer mood with his heatwave-ready EP “Fiji’s World”. Featuring a percussive array of tunes, the 9-track EP hopes to spotlight the artist’s range, as rhythmic island beats meet serene summer cuts that hope to send listeners into a state of calm. And, while the blended R&B and reggae EP offers a welcomed dualistic range of sounds, lead track “On the Moon” is the perfect groove-inducing release to accompany your trips to rooftop bars and sun-soaked parties over the next few days.

“‘Fiji’s World’ paints a vivid picture of my life, highlighting the good and the bad. This project is the way I choose to tell my story. I grew up in a family of 5 that didn’t have much, and music gave me solace in all the chaos,” explains the artist when speaking on his latest project.

But, while “Fiji’s World” is a release sure to cause quite the stir, this is not the first we are hearing of the Toronto-based talent. Standing as a pioneer in the Canadian music scene, Ossai awarded himself a rapidly-growing following with releases such as “Mignolet”, which dominated Spotify upon its release by racking up over 100,000 streams. And, with new projects on the horizon, Ossai is most definitely one to keep an eye on over the remainder of 2021.
