If we’re going to be honest, summer this year has been a rollercoaster. Between the thrilling Euro 2020 series and the end of lockdown, we’ve been through a lot of this summer, that is why kicking back with our friends on a lush summer day is a must and White Claw Hard Seltzer are getting the vibe with their new Hot Spotters.

With more and more people heading down to the park this summer, White Claw are launching their new campaign which allows people to have everything they need for their relaxing picnics. Including, speakers, blankets, sun creams and of course various Claw flavours, the package allows people to pimp out their day out and have a top-tier experience. Already enjoying the new venture, model-turned-chef Isaac Carew said that the experience is all about “uncomplicated fun” and after a year of Zoom parties was completely needed. “For me, this summer has been all about seeing mates in London but I’m always the mad unorganised one, so something like this is exactly what I need to get the best spot in the park with all the VIP essentials. Kicking back with a can of White Claw always sweetens the deal.

Catching up with us prior to the Bank Holiday weekend, Isaac dives into what his experience was like, his top three essentials for the perfect day out and how he’s ready to get back to traveling.

Hey Isaac, how are you? How has this past year been for you?
It’s been a bit of an odd year or so for sure, however plenty of good things have come out of it (my dream kitchen being one of them!).

How was lockdown for you? Did you pick up any unusual skills?
The first lockdown was actually quite fun, as I was living with friends at the time – and it was nice to spend a bit more time with them! Though the novelty soon wore off, and into the second lockdown it started to become a little boring and tedious… In fact, in a desperate attempt to combat that boredom, I actually picked up coding and learning the trumpet. Safe to say I haven’t perfected either, so I think I’ll stick to cooking for now!

How did you first get into cooking, what sparked the interest?
As a kid, I was always baking with my Mum at home! Also, my Dad and Godfather are chefs, so I was in their kitchens most Saturdays growing up, learning how to wrap fillet steaks, clean mussels and make mayonnaise – amongst others! I also used to work on a green grocer stall after school, so was always surrounded by food and fresh ingredients. Through these experiences I always kind of knew I wanted to be a chef.

Your food blog boasts over hundreds of recipes, what is your favourite thing to cook?
This one is an easy one, as I adore Italian food. Fresh pasta is something I love to cook and Carbonara is one of my favourite dishes.

Talk us through your experience with Hot Spotters, what made you want to try this and how did you get involved?
White Claw is all about uncomplicated fun, which is something I’ve been after this past year! For me, this summer has been all about seeing mates in London but I’m always the mad unorganised one, so something like this is exactly what I need to get the best spot in the park with all the VIP essentials. Kicking-back with a can of White Claw always sweetens the deal, also.

Looking back on the experience, what to you was the standout moment?
The stand-out moment for me was literally just being back around people, having fun in the sun with friends and cold cans of White Claws! It’s nice to be back in-person, as I’m officially over being on Zoom!

What are your top 3 essential things for a day out in the park?
Mates, White Claws and good vibes!

Out of all the flavours, which White Claw is your favourite?
Offt, they’re all so great – but if I had to choose, I’d go with Black Cherry. It’s just the right amount of sweetness whilst still being refreshing!

What are you most excited about/ Looking forward to?
I’m really looking forward to going on holiday, and Japan is definitely next on my list! I’m so used to travelling all the time, but I haven’t been on a plane once this year… it’s been quite a shock to the system!
