If there is one skill that many of us have had to master over the last year, it has been perseverance. Contemplating those feelings of helplessness and gridlock that the lockdown induced, indie collective Febueder unveils their single, “Pasiphae”. Unlike most tracks, jaunty instrumentation featuring a diverse range of percussive sounds prevails, while a harmonious layer of vocals rings out from underneath, rendering the track wildly experimental. And, while the track is beautiful in sound, the deeply profound lyrics give it a newfound depth.

“For so many people, the past year has brought with it an almost ever-present sense of gridlock,” explains Kieran Godfrey when speaking on the track’s meaning. “When you’re understandably tetchy about such matters stubbornness is born, however when you allow this to dissipate self-esteem prevails.”

And, while the messaging in the track already stands as thought-provoking, its accompanying music video makes it all the more powerful. Detailing the humbling yet uplifting tale of Tyler Turner, the athlete who had a near-death experience, the docu-style music video hopes to leave listeners in a deep state of contemplation.
