Serving up other-worldly vocals and introspection, singer-songwriter Jihae is back with her new track, “Utopia”. A pensive cut filled with a pulsating beat and atmospheric production, listeners are welcomed into the South Korea-born multi-hyphenate’s world as her ethereal tone carries forward lyrics seeped in uplifting optimism. And, with the track standing as a self-produced body of work, the project is made all the more beautiful.
Accompanying the track is the artist’s music video which received it’s direction from the seasoned creative, Paola Kudack. Captivating in nature, watch the artist embrace the great outdoors as she takes to pebbled beaches and hilly terrain as watchers are given an even more intimate insight into the mind of Jihae.
“The video represents my internal journey over the past year,” explains the artist when speaking on her music video. “The long process of rewrites to make the song uplifting mirrored my determination to find inner peace. It’s not easy to face our reality without anger, frustration and despair. I made the choice to stop being consumed by these emotions and focus on how I can contribute to healing our planet and helping people in these desperate times. We are wired to seek euphoria externally, running away from ourselves to find meaning and fill the void when sages, saints and scholars throughout history have shown us that all the wisdom, peace and light can be found within through meditation and prayer. I had shot with Paola before and have always admired her ability to capture her subject’s essence in raw moments.”
