Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter To Los Angeles

While concerts may be back, it is fair to say that many will be taking their time when it comes to returning to crowded moshpits and jam-packed stadiums. Recognising this, Disney+ has teamed up with Billie Eilish to bring fans the live music experience, Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter To Los Angeles. Opening up with the megastar’s confession of romanticising LA, the teaser trailer holds the promise of flashing neon lights, a grand set and Billie’s unmatched vocals, which can all be enjoyed from the comfort of viewer’s homes. With brother Finneas and a live orchestra joining her, brace yourselves to watch Billie Eilish in action on September 3rd.

Cinderella

Billy Porter in a glittering gold get-up? Camila Cabello singing her heart out? Fairytale romance? What more could you want from a movie? Well, this is exactly what the trailer for the highly-anticipated Cinderella remake is giving us. Promising to follow the plot of the classic 1950s animation, Disney fans can watch Cabello sing and dance her way through a tale filled with an evil stepmother, wish-granting fairy godmothers and, of course, an undeniably handsome Prince – played by Nicholas Galitzine. With a cast littered with huge names such as Idina Menzel, Pierce Brosnan and James Corden, this is a film you will not want to miss upon its release on September 3rd.

Money Heist: Part 5 Vol.1

Continuing on with its suspenseful plot, Netflix’s famed Spanish thriller is back as the trailer for Money Heist: Part 5 Vol.1 drops. Following on from the callous murder of Nairobi, it quickly becomes clear that surrender is out of the question in the new season – especially as we learnt of The Professor’s kidnapping. As encroaching military forces close in on them, the show’s beloved band of heist-goers gear up with severe weaponry as explosive scenes of fire, gunshots and grenade eruptions fill the screen. Set to stand as an intense peak in the thriller series’ plot, gear up for a week of drama-filled binge-watching upon the show’s release on September 3rd.

Brand New Cherry Flavor

In a bid to ensure that summer stays creepy post-Fear Street release, Netflix unveils its supernatural horror series, Brand New Cherry Flavor. Set against the enchanting backdrop of 90s Hollywood, the tale of a filmmaker on a quest to make it big in LA seems unsuspecting in premise. But as we learn that the lead character, Lisa, is hell-bent on revenge, her visit to a witch-like figure in the hopes of conjuring a curse leads her down a rabbit hole filled with “sex, magic, revenge – and kittens.” Set to be truly twisted, get ready for the fright of your life when the show premieres on August 13th.

The Prince

If The Crown has taught us anything, it is that – love them or hate them – we are a nation obsessed with the royals. And, in a bid to offer up some slightly less intense royal coverage, HBO Max is here with the comedy cartoon, The Prince. Undeniably controversial in nature, viewers are taken on a journey around London and LA through the eyes of Kate and Will’s oldest, Prince George. With Orlando Bloom and Sophie Turner lending their voices to the humorous display and cameos from the likes of a doodled Prince Harry and Meghan Markle unveiled, it is a series that promises to have the whole family in stitches. Here’s to playing with fire!

Truth Be Told Season 2

Rounding off this week’s round-up is the crime-filled thriller, Truth Be Told. Introducing Kate Hudson’s seemingly sweet character, Micah Keith, season 2 of the Apple TV+ show sees Octavia Spencer continue on with her true-crime podcast as another mysterious death presents itself. And, with an ominous tagline that reads “every truth has two sides”, expect plenty of twists, turns and podcast drama on August 20th, when the series drops.
