What better way to stick it to a toxic ex than to drop a song about your relationship? Well, this is exactly what rising R&B artist Olivia Swann has done with track “Gaslight”. Filled with rhythmic reggae sensibilities, the artist’s latest release exudes a feel-good summer energy that is truly infectious. But, laying over the seemingly upbeat sounds are Olivia’s sultry R&B vocals which tell an introspective tale of toxic love, giving the song an undeniable depth.
“I don’t think we talk enough about the power of seduction in a relationship and how sometimes someone can use intense chemistry to blur and confuse the reality of a situation,” explains Olivia. “In my case, it was finally figuring out that you’re not crazy, they are! Ultimately recognising their serious obsession with me, I wish I could have told myself to wake up!”
With multi-instrumentalist LionHaire also lending her vocals to the masterfully crafted track, it is made all the more special. With a string of releases from the artist over the last year, it is evident that Olivia is one to watch.
