Kim Jones has been a busy man as of late. After the reveal of his hypebeast dreamland at the Dior x Cactus Jack show, it would be fair to say that he deserved a break. But, in a bid to prove that his dedication to the fashion calendar knows no bounds, the design maverick unveils the Fendi AW21 Couture collection in Rome.
Taking to the cobbled streets of the Eternal City, the designer chose a sunset-infused backdrop depicting the marbled stone buildings synonymous with Rome’s enchanting skyline to set the tone of the show. With the work of the famed Roman film director Pier Paolo Pasolini at the helm of this collection’s inspiration, Jones looked to blend eras as clashing textures and restored garments refused to be defined by a specific time. And, if the Luca Guadagnino-shot film did not already allude to the timeless nature of the show, the scenes of Christy Turlington, Amber Valletta and Kate Moss modelling the collection made it abundantly clear.
