While we might currently be relishing in the fact it’s Friday and slapping on the most high energy tunes we can find, for others, the end of the week might be a slow one and Vigo Blax are here to provide for them. Putting you straight in your feels with their slow-burning single “Feelings in My Phone”, duo Vigo and Jones take us through a piano-laden production that draws on elements of hip-hop and trap. Fusing all these genres together, the producer and songwriting duo effortlessly create an atmospheric soundscape that has us reminiscent of Kid Cudi and early Travis Scott. Tapping into the Pixies iconic single “Where Is My Mind” for the refrain, the duo instantly put us in a psychedelic trance and push the boundaries on dream-pop.

Speaking on the single, Vigo explains, “I think it‘s extremely important that we develop awareness for digital depression. People need to be more open towards this subject and digital education should be a normal thing to discuss in schools and universities. We are constantly looking for the next distraction. The next dopamine hit. We’re often not really living in the physical world. Our social media selves being our main interest.We could prevent a lot of negativity if we would talk about this topic more openly without fear of being judged. I am excited but also worried about the future. Despite all the benefits, I think the biggest threat humanity will ever face, might not manifest in the physical world but in the digital realm. We have to be transparent about our digital inventions and openly communicate the risks that come with using them on a daily basis, if we want to be able to coexist in a healthy way.”
