It has been a busy week for Doja Cat. After breaking the internet yesterday with her Instagram post that highlighted the imminent release of her extraterrestrial album Planet Her and its decorated tracklist, which features collaborations from the likes of Ariana Grande and The Weekend, fans and music lovers alike were rife with excitement. But, Doja is not planning on letting her fans rest just yet. Following on from a hint on Instagram that new music would be dropping this week, the singer has released the album track “Need To Know”.

Exuding some seriously sultry energy, the track’s lyrics are filled with innuendos and flirtatious curiosity that sends listeners into the depths of their hot girl feels. Doja’s usual blend of ethereal vocals and melodically harsh raps clash on the track, as whirling productions and shrill backing vocals ensure that fans are transported to her album’s fictional planet. And, with the cover art showcasing a green-skinned Doja sporting crochet lingerie and thigh-high platform boots with alien-esque veins running through their base, it is clear that the star was going for out-of-this-world aesthetics with the song’s visuals as well.

With “Need To Know” standing as the second glimmering track to be pulled from Doja’s forthcoming album – following on from the candy hues-infused and alien-filled release of “Kiss Me More” featuring SZA – we already know that we will be spending the entirety of our summer on Planet Her.
