With Covid putting fashion shows on the backbench the past year, we’ve been forced to watch all the star-studded shows from behind a screen, saying goodbye to street-style galleries and eccentric attendees. But of course, the TikTok fashion community have found a way to fill the void with the new #frontrowchallenge. Posting their best front-row-worthy fits to sit in between the likes of Anna Wintour and Rihanna, the community are dressed to nines for VIP shows such as Prada, Gucci, and more.
Set to Britney Spears’ “Gimme More”, the challenge is to fit the aesthetic of each label that they’re attending, leading fashionistas to dig through their wardrobes and find the best-fitted blazer for Balmain and slouchy all-black boots for Saint Laurent. Ignited by TikTok fashion community pioneer’s @evelilythrifts and @andeoj back in January, the trend sky-rocketed during Couture Week and even TikTok’s best-dressed guy Wisdom Kaye offered his take on the challenge last week.
With the challenge spreading over to IG Reels, the trend is letting us channel our inner celebrity and create paparazzi-worthy looks.
