PREMIERE: CAPYAC – “ALRIGHT”

Fusing glam-rock vocals and squelchy acidic beats, the nu-disco rockers’ new single is an explosion of dancefloor-ready decadence.

CAPYAC are the ultra-glam nu-disco rockers that’ll put a pep in your step and some groove in your moves this Friday. Combining glam-rock vocals (by way of HMLTD) with some squelchy, funk-laced production, the duo’s ethos is that of a shaken bottle of pop, ready to fizz and explode in every direction once you unscrew the lid.

Having covered two classic 00s dance hits from Stardust (“Music Sounds Better With You”) and Modjo (“Lady (Hear Me Tonight)”) already this year, “Alright” signals an entirely new forthcoming project for the two, born out of spending much of 2020 simultaneously in limbo. Like us all, the pair got restless, and creatively explored a whole host of new sounds and collaborations from their LA home studio which they’ll be blessing us with in the coming months.

“We’re beyond excited to get to work with international man of mystery, Charlie Random,” the two say of the song, revealing the winding road it took to get to reach the lead singers alter ego after he upped and left from online music platform Soundcloud. “The man had millions of followers and just vanished, decided to start fresh. Kind of like a born again Christian thing, I guess, except he’s more into the idea of chaos than the idea of God. Entropy and all that.”

“Anyway, we’re extremely humbled that he’s chosen to work with us, and we couldn’t be more excited to present the first single of our second debut album in conjunction with the legend himself.”

Premiering exclusively on Wonderland, check out CAPYAC’s explosive video for “Alright” – a fever dream of 90’s rap video vixens and voguing biker gangs that capture the group’s warm embrace of all things camp, comedic and downright outrageous.
