Swedish chart-topping sensation Molly Hammar just released our latest girl power anthem, “Douchebag.” Enlisting the help of Sebastian Atas from electro-pop duo Jübel, who produced and co-wrote the song, Hammar’s R&B and pop-infused track delivers a sharp yet playful diss to every fuckboy out there.
Mocking laughter builds into an attitude-pulsing production. A defiant melodic hook takes hold, backed by smoky vocals and biting lyricism: “Fuck you, you’re a douchebag / You walk around like you’re a big man / You got plenty hoes on your Facetime / What a douche, what a douche, what a douche.” Yep, shots fired.
In the accompanying music video, Hammar’s empowering lyrics are visually imagined as a satirical night out in Stockholm. Kitted out in strappy leotards, Swedish artist JANICE and influencer Alice Stenlöf dance alongside Hammar, who takes on the role of both stereotypical player and sexually empowered female.
