DISNEY

Disney and Marvel have announced a bucket load of new shows and films set to be released over the next three years.

2020 was supposed to be the year of film with numerous sequels and series set for release, but due to the pandemic, film sets and projects have either been left shelved or set left untouched. But Disney used this year to make way for a whole new handful of projects. Announcing 20 new projects across the Marvel and Star Wars universe, Disney announced that there will be a Captain Marvel 2, directed by Nia DaCosta and a reboot of Fantastic Four. Samuel L. Jackson is set to reprieve his role in new show Secret Invasion and Don Cheadle will retune for the third instalment of Ant-Man and The Wasp. Academy Award-winning actor Christian Bale will make his Marvel debut in the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder as the villain Gorr, The God Butcher.

In the Star Wards universe, Disney confirmed that Hayden Christensen will make his return to the series as the vengeful Anakin/Dark Vader in the upcoming Kenobi series alongside co-star Ewan McGregor. Rosario Dawson is set to get a standalone series based in The Mandalorian’s timeline, while another series Rangers of the New Republic will be based in the same context. With 20 new projects set for the next two years, that Disney+ subscription is looking very tempting.
