A dose of heady attitude is just what the doctor ordered to administer a kick up the backside of what can only be described as an incredibly meh year. Introducing New York-hailed provocateur Eulene with her impressive self-titled debut EP.

Love, loss, sacrifice, grit, femininity, despair are some of the far-reaching themes on the six-part project, characterised with Eulene’s signature brooding basslines, empowering lyricism and propulsive melodies. Head to the dancefloor with crackling instant-hit “Megalomaniac”; engulf yourself in the staccato rhythms of “Momma”; then slow down the tempo with oozing lo-fi track and relatable lyricism of “Sleeping With A Ghost”. “Let It Roll” plays out the EP with edgy production and irresistibly catchy hooks. “The vision of this project pulled me to create the music and the full picture arrived to me clearly, before I even wrote a single song,” explains Eulene. “The process was a new one for me and my writing partner, Angelo Petraglia. Merging different musical genres that I love was probably the most defining directive of the EP. This included classical music to disco to pop to choral music to angular and industrial sounds. Incorporating these musical accents around the bones of the raw songs was an amazing, creative experience. The emotional arc of the EP includes digging for the truth in sacrifice, grit, love, femininity, despair, loss and the hypnotic attraction of power.”
