You’d be hard pushed to find many people so dedicated to their craft and insistent on getting their art into the world that they would start their music career in the midst of a pandemic, but not everyone has the tenacity of Jak Bannon.

And for his third single, the Los Angeles-based creative has dropped “Homebound”, produced by electronic boundary-pusher Mr. Carmack – a cautionary tale that places an emphasis on the need for reflection and making changes in your life. A track that probably couldn’t have come at a better time.

Crackling with the anonymity of busy city soundscapes, Bannon’s introspective lyricism sweeps across Carmack’s innovative and lo-fi production – it’s a song that pulses and moves with loneliness, nostalgia and hope, all at once.

“I got into a bad car accident in 2017, and it put into perspective how fleeting life is,” Jak Bannon explains. And the visuals of “Homebound” unite Bannon’s vocal prowess with his creative talents as a videographer, making for a trippy fever dream of a music video.
