Capturing that last glimmer of light on a late Sunday afternoon with their new single is international ensemble Snowapple with “Afternoon”. Taking inspiration from Garcia Lorca’s wistful poem, the tune is filled with mixed emotions and the longing to be with someone against a backdrop of country-tinged guitar strings and an array of powerful vocals. Accompanied by a video directed by Océane Combeau, we go down the rabbit hole into a surreal world where nothing is as it seems.

“We have almost come to the end of this bizarre year,” says Snowapple singer Laurien Schreuder as she opens up on the tune. “Of course, the most important thing is for everyone to be healthy – but we have missed performing live and connecting with audiences so much. In these strange times when life has come to a standstill, we have examined how we can carry on giving expression to our great passions. Together with musicians, producers, filmmakers, theatre-makers, writers and other artists, we have been working on various projects including a medium-length film and a new album.”

With “Afternoon” serving as a teaser from what is to come from their upcoming album Wrong Feet, we’re expecting Snowapple’s signature avant-garde sound and diverse influences to burst at the seams for this highly-anticipated project.
