Daniel W. Fletcher has been one to watch for a good old while now. You’ll have seen him chopping his way through Netflix’s Next In Fashion, read about him taking the helm as the artistic director of menswear at Fiorucci, or maybe even ran into him somewhere down Hackney’s narrow way. Point being, he’s been around the block, and has learnt how to rustle up some fantastic menswear in the process.
This past week Fletcher finally unveiled the looks from his highly-anticipated SS21 show, inspired by the enigmatic allure of the musical greats from decades past and present. The collection is a direct response to the swelling void left by COVID-19 restrictions in regards to the live music scene, with Fletcher himself showing several weeks off the Fashion Week schedule as his own industry grapples with an ever-changing landscape spurred on by the virus. Though we can’t see any immediate references to Kylie at The Brits in 2002, the obvious standard for live music greatness, we’re sure they’re in there, alongside nods to rock legend Mick Jagger and The 1975’s Matty Healy.
