With winter around the corner, self-care days are becoming more of a regular thing and here to soundtrack those lush days is classical soul pioneer Alexis French with his new EP “Home”. Featuring festive favourites such as “O Holy Night” and “Feliz Navidad”, the pianist sketches a heartwarming soundscape for uncertain times filled with soulful piano-led melodies and dreamy masterpieces. With new compositions, “A Time For Giving” and “Simple Gifts” also featuring on the EP, we recommend setting those Yankee Candles and to bask in nothing but relaxation for maximum effect.

“For me, the holiday season is about spending time at home with my family,” Alexis says as he opens up on the EP. “Playing board games together and reflecting on the year. After such a turbulent year, I’ll be thinking about those who are isolated at home, and those for whom ‘home’ isn’t a happy place to be. I send my warmest wishes, as together we look towards a brighter 2021, and I hope my music can be a source of comfort.”

With the absence of concerts this year, the soul pioneer has been blessing the likes of Song Of Praise and The Andrew Marr Show with his calm and skilful sound. In his own contemporary lane, the classical performer’s EP is just what we need to break up the backdrop of uncertainty and tumultuous times.
