God, we’ve been after a good ole’ fashion fix for weeks now, and for pre SS21, McQueen womenswear have made it clear they’ve got us covered. Made during lockdown (you know, the other one), the collection was created predominantly out of stock fabric, which was then over-printed, over-dyed and renewed entirely for a season that’s in spiritual bondage with the phrase ‘out with the old, in with the new’.
Set beside a series of chalky white cliffs, the McQueen girls took to the beach in the finest of garments for the occasion, think full skirts of rosy pink silk, stone grey tailored jackets with deconstructed lapels, and sleek cigarette trousers draped effortlessly beside the ankle. Deconstructed trench coats transformed themselves into puffy skirted wonders, or clung to the waist as they found themselves enveloped in the most divine buckle belt – of the chunky ivory variety – you’ve ever laid eyes upon.
