Selena

With this year marking 25 years since the tragic death of the queen of Tejano music, Netflix have partnered with the late singer’s family for a series based around her life as a singer leading up to her untimely death. Starring Christian Serratos, Ricardo Chavira and Gabriel Chavarria, the new series will break away from the Jennifer Lopez’s 1997 film, as we will have more of an insight into the singer’s childhood and rapid rise to fame. With the trailer teasing what is set to be a specular series, we’re planning to stay in this Christmas and binge-watch it in its entirety.

The Midnight Sky

While it might sometimes feel like we are living in an apocalyptic sci-fi, George Clooney is transporting us to another world with his new drama, The Midnight Sky. Based around Lily Brooks-Dalton’s novel Good Morning Midnight, the sci-fi takes us through Clooney’s character searching for a way to warn other survivors against returning to Earth after a global catastrophe. Filmed before the pandemic, the film enlists Felicity Jones, David Oyelowo and Kyle Chandler for what is set to be a sci-fi extravaganza.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina – final season

The news that The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been cancelled still brings tears to our eyes to this day. But nevertheless, the show is back for its fourth and final season on December 31st and this season is looking like their most explosive yet. Proving to be bittersweet for fans, then trailer showcases all kinds of spooky and supernatural surprises that already have us intrigued. With Netflix promising a one last “Chilling Adventure” we’re eagerly counting down the days to the premiere.

Shawn Mendes: In Wonder

With news that the singer will be starting his Residency tour at the Palace Theatre next year, we immediately marked our calendars for what is set to be a night to remember. But before we can return to theatres and concerts halls, the singer announced that he will be sharing his new album later this year and a documentary alongside. With the trailer offering us an insight into the creation of Wonder and his wistful relationship with fellow star Camila Cabello, Mendes is spoiling us with content and we’re not complaining.

Dash & Lily

As the weather turns for the worse and the days get colder we’re in desperate need of a heartwarming rom-com to keep us uplifted during these dreary times. Based on the YA series Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn, the 8-part Netflix series will take us a whirlwind holiday romance between two polar opposite teens. Filled with dares, dreams and desires the romantic comedy is set to drop November 10th.

Minari

Anything A24 is a must stan, including their new drama Minari. Introducing us to a Korean American family, the moving film showcases the family’s trials and tribulations and they search for a better life on a farm in Arkansas. Having had it’s world premiere earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival, we’re still waiting on a public release date for cinemas and online.
