London and Liverpool, two cultural hubs of the UK that, coincidentally, both start with the letter L… Okay, not an interesting comparison, but both cities do boast a plethora of iconic exports in art, music, film and fashion. In fact, I’d say the latter may have the jump on us Southerners just for producing Atomic Kitten, but anyway…

It seems Pullman Hotels have spotted these similarities too, and have collaborated with London’s most popular all-night art event to launch Pullman Art Run. Together the two entities invite guests to explore the respective UK cities through the lens of artistic discovery in a 5km run route, designed to reveal a selection of fascinating local art surrounding Pullman’s St Pancras and Liverpool Royal Dock residencies through the medium of sculpture, street-art, and even augmented reality.

In addition to the immersive tour, Pullman have also collated a bespoke music playlist to compliment the journey, complete with informative audio podcasting from two of the art world’s most influential figures, Fatoş Üstek and Katy Hessel, who reveal all sorts of tid-bits and facts about the works like a real gallery tour.

James Wheatcroft, a spokesperson for Pullman, said of the exciting event; “Pullman guests are hyper-connected and instinctively inquisitive. They are driven to be creative and to push boundaries. With this in mind, Pullman Art Run is the perfect opportunity for guests to stimulate their body and mind by embarking on an energizing experience, exploring the wonders of two of the UK’s most culturally exciting cities.”

Guests will also receive a limited edition art map of the running route, a memento which depicts the locations of each work that, on its reverse, also features a special art-work from the King’s Cross and Liverpool Biennal archives. We think this might be the grandest Art Run yet, so we better splurge on some running shoes…
