But bringing back the chill-vibes of the 90s with her soulful new tune is newcomer R.A.E with “Like This”. Brimming with infectious energy and old-school R&B vibes, the singer’s honeyed vocals glide over a production filled with retro charm and hip-hop tinged bass lines.

Speaking on the meaning behind the song and its creation, the singer said, “This song means a lot to me because I’ve taken risks in my life, especially the decision to quit working and follow my dreams.” She explains, “Not having a stable income, being depressed but still trying to pursue my dream was extremely hard. I had to be my own biggest fan even though times were tough, but I did not give up. I’ve still got a long way to go, but for now I can appreciate the journey I’m on and give thanks to the highest because the best is yet to come.”

Having gained attention from the likes of Glastonbury Emerging Talent and prolific Brazilian rapper Emicida, R.A.E. has been steadily building up a repertoire fuelled by authenticity, good vibes and empowerment. With her EP “Listen Up” also out today, we suggest you enter the weekend the right way and blast this loud on your speakers.
