Did you even experience the noughties if you don’t remember Vanessa Carlton’s iconic song and video for “A Thousand Miles”? With her piano in tow, the singer sang through the streets of LA, belting out lyrics that would soon be etched into our memory forever. Pulling inspiration from this video, are left-pop trio Moontower with their latest tongue-in-cheek video for “Hit The Lights”. Taken from their EP “What Day Is It?”, the trio provide us with a high-energy tune filled with crashing guitars and heart-pounding drums. The group’s new single has us reminiscing of early noughties indie-pop with teen parties vibes and feel-good energy.

The single is fresh of the heels of the trio’s boundary-pushing collaboration single “Guess I’m Jaded” with Goldroom, which showcased the trio’s signature high-energy sound with feverish lyricism. With their EP “What Day Is It?” out now, we suggest blasting this EP out all day long for the perfect entrance into the weekend.
