Sink your teeth into Tigerbalm’s hypnotic disco tune – “Ello Koko”. Formerly half of cosmic dance duo-Earthboogie, Tigerbalm has been expertly fusing the best of dub and disco with a tropical spin for the last few years. Now going it alone, Nicola Rose Robinson is creating something of her own boogie wonderland.

You’d be forgiven for assuming the song name was a Cockney geezer greeting a certain Camden nightclub, but the track actually takes root in Indonesia. Influenced by her travels in Lombok, Tigerbalm took an instant liking to the country’s distinctive sounds and aural flare, enlisting the help of Alex Searle (bass and lead guitar) and Patrick Dawes (percussion) on her return to the UK to create a groove-filled masterpiece.

The highly rhythmic track boasts warm neon-hues with a funk-driven flare, think speedy disco drums, squelchy synths, and soothingly lush piano chords, all dripping with electro charm. The resulting mix is magnetic, serene and pretty much eargasmic.
