You might recognise Easton as the fashion portrait photographer behind the lens snapping some of the world’s most prolific names (Kylie, Kendall, KJ Apa, to name a few) – but his art and talent extends to the mesmerising soundscapes he’s been cultivating.

Taken from his debut album Milky Way Midnight, the Los Angeles-based artist has now dropped the trippy visuals for “Vitamin D Gun” – his sun-soaked, body-shaking new track, which simmers into life with propulsive synths and the artist’s hypnotic vocals.

And the music video is a mind-warping animation that flits from ravers partying in paradise, to an island peak with seriously psychedelic portals.

“The lead single ‘Vitamin D Gun’ is all vibe,” explains Easton. “It’s exactly what you want to hear when you lay out your beach blanket, pop an edible, and start an impromptu dance party with your favourite creatures.”

We caught up with Easton below…

Congratulations on “Vitamin D Gun” – what was the inspiration behind the track?
Thanks! It’s actually inspired by a ‘trip’ I took in Sayulita, one of my favourite vacation spots in Mexico. My friends and I were in the ocean for hours, we literally felt like amphibians when we got out of the water, like we didn’t belong on land. That night we all ended up getting the same tattoo “en el mar la vida es mas sabrosa” which means “in the sea life is more flavourful”. It’s so true though and especially in Sayulita, the energy is so electric, the people are so welcoming and when you leave you feel like you were just kissed by the sun.

And the music video is a trippy universe – where did the idea come from?
Trippy is definitely the right word for it. Well, since we were in quarantine and I couldn’t travel to make the video, I wanted to find a way to express the visual stimulation I felt when I was there. The director of the video, Alexandre Lucenet, collaborated with me to make this world come alive and I couldn’t be happier. It makes me feel like I’m at a water park as an adult. Except with goodies.

How do you want the track and music video to make people feel?
Hopefully it takes you away from this world for a second – get up and dance, shake your ass, vibe out with a joint… shit, do the “sim dance” (circa 2001). Take a shot of tequila! Live!
