Back with another post-punk tune is Southend-on-Sea natives The Trusted, with “ The Innocent”. Bursting with jangly guitars and rich vocals, the band explore their own naivety and inexperience over a feel-good beat. The four-piece – consisting of Dave, Fin, Dale and Tom – combine their love of 70s new wave and story-telling for a refreshing cinematic tune.
Speaking on the tune Tom said: “I don’t think we are aiming for a certain kind of ‘sound.’ For us, if it sounds and feels good, we follow it. Popular music culture is so layered, it’s really hard to stay in the same lane. With ‘The Innocent,’ we were kind of going for that cinematic indie thing.”
The group have successfully brought their indie alt-rock wave to the stage with their captivating live shows and have amassed hundreds and thousands of fans worldwide – keep a close eye on this group as they are primed for greatness.
