In the age of social media, what is real and authentic, and what is fake and curated, has never been so heavily contested in art as it has right now.

And one artist exploring this dissonance with a unique voice and cadence is Berlin-based YASHA in his debut track “Under Pillow”.

Bolstered by sun-soaked, psychedelic synths and a propulsive rhythm, the 23-year-old producer, singer and songwriter, Jáchym Kovář, explores how we all project these insecurities, and their occurrence on the internet everyday.

And the music video is a dark exploration on the mental toll this can take on us, and the mask we paint to hide who we truly are.

“Under Pillow is a song about how we present a fabrication of ourselves to others for their approval,” explains YASHA. “The happens especially on social networks every day, projecting our insecurities and anxieties from what we see in the mirror because we are truthfully someone else in private.”
