During this time of global lockdown, our fleeting moments spent in nature have never been more precious, or nourishing for the soul.

And so it’s apt that this week, for the next instalment of their immersive project, McQueen Creators, that Alexander McQueen is encouraging us all to boost our creativity by taking inspiration from endangered flowers from their SS20 collection.

Last week, followers were being encouraged to submit photography derived from the great outdoors – a symbol of hope, regeneration and new beginnings. The house unveiled a series of commissioned images, shot during lockdown by photographers who are long-standing McQueen collaborators as well as emerging talent based all over the world.

Following on from last week, McQueen have released information on endangered flowers embroidery from their SS20 collection. Fitting in nicely with their latest McQueen Creators project, the fashion house are showing us how to use techniques such as embroidery, pulling out samples from previous collections.

“I’ve always been inspired by nature – it’s a thread which runs through everything we create at McQueen,” explains Creative Director Sarah Burton. “The most important thing now is for us to reconnect with nature. These pictures are a reflection of that thought.”

When you have created your work of art, upload to socials and make sure to #McQueenCreators.
