If the music of Fake Laugh had a photographic imprint it would be a warm evening unwinding with friends. Jacket over shoulders as the sun sprays a yellow glow onto every wine glass at the pub.
Since his arrival on the scene, London-based Berlin-based musician Kamran Khan has been pumping out sunshine-doused indie-pop, filled with cascading and textured guitar riffs, as well as the ethereal vocals of Khan.
And “Exotic Bird” is a bop to be listened to now, and saved for when the evenings get longer and the outdoors more palatable. A longing and whimsical tone pushes the melody along, which waxes lyrical about a love interest that is, well, like an exotic bird.
