Turns out Bing Crosby is not the only one dreaming about a white Christmas. Tom Ford’s latest beauty collection, Soleil Neige, is inspired by the gleam of winter sun against snow-coated alpine slopes.
But how exactly does one translate such a vision into products you ask? Well, the Eye Colour Quad includes icy, reflective chrome shadows. Meanwhile, the Lash Rays Mascara defines eyes to deliver a stone fox stare and the dual-ended creamy Glow Sticks give a rosy flush and pearlescent glow. The new Glow Drop shade that creates silky-smooth illuminance is particularly delightful.
In true Tom Ford style, there’s also an Eau de Parfum – housed in a chic ivory-coloured bottle, no less. Glistening snow is symbolised through bright opening notes of bergamot and carrot seed. When the fragrance dries, a sun-kissed warmth is expected to develop as undertones of wood, honey, musky benzoin and creamy vanilla take hold.
“Soleil Neige is the bright side of Soleil, a polar expression to Soleil Blanc’s solar floral. Radiant with winter light, the scent mimics the shimmer of sun on snow,” says Tom Ford. The delicious odour is carried through to the platinum Shimmering Body Oil which also forms part of the launch.
And if all of the above wasn’t enough, Tom Ford is blessing us with a new lip balm formula just in time for chapped lip season. Available in five sheer shades and full of nutrient-rich shine, it’s unlikely we’ll be able to imagine life without it.
