The wait is finally over for superhero fans around the world as Gal Gadot returns to the big screen for DC mega-picture Wonder Woman 1984.

A rumbling and slightly more thumpy version of New Order’s “Blue Monday” reintroduces the famed superhero, and owing to historical accuracy this unfortunately discludes Kylie Minogue’s “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” mashup version of the tune making the cut, oh well!

In any case, the trailer gives us plenty of retro Americana beauty to revel in, think gorgeous mall food-courts, VHS and all things vintage. Gadot, of course, is serving looks, from classic Hollywood gowns and her signature metallic platforms to a magnificent golden gladiator costume that would make even Cher weep with joy.

The trailer sees our favourite hero taken to task pretty much everywhere she goes, always equipped and ready for battle. Fans shouldn’t be expect this to be a sequel, however. Producer Charles Roven said that it’s really about the next iteration of Gadot’s character, with a totally different story to the first.

Although not much else is known about the plot as of yet, if the accompanying posters are anything to go by, the production will not disappoint. With a villainous Cheetah-print clad Kristen Wiig and the miraculous return of Chris Pine in… a fanny-pack, Wonder Woman 1984 is sure to be a smash. You can check out the trailer below.
