The opening bars blast retro electric keyboard notes into the ears, strikingly adding layers of propulsive percussion and delightfully 80s-style jaunty synths. But it all comes truly together in one hazy amalgamation as the vocals of Hawaii-born Mikey Maramag dance upon the melodies.

“’It Hurts To Say Goodbye’ was actually the original titled of the album and it is about being grateful for being alive and appreciating loved ones and friends,” explains Mikey Maramag. “You never know when you or a loved one will die, so living with conviction and letting people know how you feel about them before it’s too late becomes paramount as life goes on.”
