Rap is currently undergoing a rejuvenation, with a fresh new batch of talented artists taking centre stage across the charts. Three of the upcoming rappers releasing some of the most genre-defying, innovative and creative rap music and R&B are now joining forces to create a ‘supergroup’ called Ghetto Sage, set to release new music as soon as tomorrow.

Noname (real name Fatimah Nyeema Warner), fellow Chicago native Saba and Missouri-born rapper Smino, announced on the new Twitter page for Ghetto Sage that music from the trio will be dropping on 17th October, after cryptically tweeting “Should we drop a song [?]” last weekend.

Smino, already the founder of musical collective Zero Fatigue with artists such as A$AP Bari and Ravyn Lenae, has been making waves since he dropped his 2015 EP “Blkjuptr” and everyone sat up straight and listened. Saba entered the public periphery back in 2013 as a feature on Chance The Rapper’s second mixtape “Acid Rap”, and has since become the frontman of rap group Pivot Gang.

With their already verified Twitter account gaining upwards of 16,000 followers in a matter of days, it’s fair to say we’re not the only ones counting down the minutes until the collaboration drops.
