Dark, simmering psychedelia. Propulsive beats. And guitar-fuelled electro-pop. It can only be New York duo Phantogram – Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel – who have been bringing us addictive bops like “Into Happiness” and “Fall In Love” for almost a decade now.

And now the act have returned with their latest single “Mister Impossible”, an electrifying slow-burner to soundtrack the end of your summer. We caught up with the twosome to get their ultimate playlist.

Listen below…

WHY? – “Stained Glass Slipper”

They are always a constant on our playlists; one of our favorite bands of all time. Great word play and music that goes beyond boundaries.

ROSALÍA – “Aute Cuture”

She’s just so different and cool. The production on her tracks is always so dope.

slowthai – “Drug Dealer”

We have been listening to him since our manager turned us on to his stuff a while back and can’t wait till he tours the States again to see him live. Interesting lyrics and beats…and some great videos!

Thom Yorke – “Dawn Chorus”

Radiohead are one of our favourite bands since we first heard The Bends. Thom Yorke’s solo work is incredible as well.

BROCKHAMPTON – “BOY BYE”

A refreshing hip hop act that is doing something different. We’ve been on their shit for a while now.

Big Thief – “Contact”

We have been listening to a lot of Big Thief lately. Musically it feels like a true masterpiece of folk music and Adrienne Lenker’s voice is so gorgeous. The guitar work is excellent too.

Tierra Whack – “Gloria”

She’s creatively pushing boundaries into unexplored territory. We’ve been fans of hers for a long time, can’t wait to see whats next from her.

black midi – “Speedway”

It seems like guitar music is making a comeback which is refreshing. They touch upon a more esoteric part of music that we both grew up loving. A refreshing take on punk and indie rock.

IDLES – “I Dream Guillotine”

These guys are just punk as fuck and we love them for it. Great music to blast and turn up to!

Clairo – “Sofia”

Clairo makes great daydream pop that sets her apart from a lot of other stuff thats out there. It’s perfect for day time listening on tour.
