After binging the new season of Stranger Things (read: obsessing over newest addition Maya Hawke and crying over how much the kids have grown up since Season 1), we immediately rejoiced over learning that when Joe Keery isn’t playing jock-turned-nice-guy Steve Harrington, he also flexes his musical talents. And it turns out he’s not the only one in the cast to do so, as dream girl Maya Hawke releases the second of two new songs, “To Love A Boy”.

Hawke – the daughter of Tarantino regular Uma Thurman, and who recently embodied a Manson family member in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood – sings wistfully: “I want to love a boy the way I love the ocean”. The video features Hawke dressed as a mermaid with a long blonde wig, at first washed up on the shore before gleefully wandering around a pier, wide-eyed and in awe of everything around her on dry land. She later strips off, mermaid tail and all, and dives back into the sea from which she supposedly came.

We’re not sure if there’s any symbolism behind the song’s quirky video, but we’re living for mermaid Hawke.
