To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing, Swiss luxury watchmaker Omega is spotlighting four artists breaking new ground. Get to know Voyager Four…
50 years ago, on July 21 1969, history was made when man first walked on the Moon. In the early hours of the morning, Commander Neil Armstrong became the first human to step foot on the lunar surface, followed by lunar module pilot Buzz Aldrin 19 minutes later. When they spoke to President Nixon after planting the US flag on that monumental morning, Armstrong described the event as “representing not only the United States, but men of peace of all nations, and with interest and curiosity, and men with a vision for the future.”
It is towards the future that we will be looking throughout this project. Partnering with Omega – whose watches Armstrong and Aldrin wore during the Apollo 11 Moon Landing – we are looking at the acts who are breaking new ground in their fields and in their own way striving to create a new vision for the future. Each of them pioneering forces in the 2019 music scene, these four artists are breaking down barriers and changing their craft through their ingenuity and creativity.

Who is your main source of inspiration?
Jim Carrey
How have they inspired you?
He has taken on so many types of characters and really exploded the concept of identity and how one might view themselves being a person in today’s world. Also he’s hilarious.
How do they continue to inspire you?
He’s being himself 100% even if he seems to be all over the place, which I respect a lot. His cartoons are amazing. He’s very multifaceted.
What are the main things that you’ve learnt from them?
His perspective on depression is really interesting and I think one beautiful perspective to look from. He’s also helped me understand why I enjoy the humour that I enjoy.
How would you like to inspire others?
Beyond creating honest music that hopefully people can relate to, I hope I inspire others to be open about whatever in their life. I hope to inspire people to follow exactly what their little heart is telling them to do, no matter how hard it may seem or feel to be. Because, through life, we’re all just going through that same battle all the time.
KEVIN ABSTRACT: I just think he’s a creative genius through and through and his music, along with the Brockhampton stuff, has evolved at every step of the way. He seems incredibly honest and I respect that.
BILLIE EILISH: She’s unlike any other artist that has ever existed sonically and visually and with her whole attitude. She’s built an empire through the internet and it’s incredible.
