As if our emotional well wasn’t bankrupt already from crying at Miley Cyrus’ Glastonbury set (“Wrecking Ball” wrecked us, you feel?), the former Wonderland cover star has just dropped the powerful new music video for her track “Mother’s Daughter” – and it is a neon pink paradise.
Featuring the singer’s mum Tish, black, transgender, and disabled model Aaron Philips, transgender model Casil Arthur, and dancer Amazon Ashley, “Mother’s Daughter” champions body positivity, female sexuality, empowerment and acceptance.
As Miley gyrates around in a pink, latex playsuit (Britney throwback, anybody?), trigger warnings pop up on the screen, reading: “Every woman is a riot”, “Virginity is a social construct”, “Not an object” and more.
