It’s official. Queen Bey is bringing her majestic vocals to the role of Nala in Disney’s forthcoming remake of The Lion King.
While rumours have been flying around for a while about her involvement, she was notably absent from the film’s teaser preview last November. But the new trailer, which premiered on Beyoncé’s YouTube channel yesterday, opens with her distinctive voice: “Simba, you have to take your place as King. We need you. Come home…”
The nostalgia is real. Watch the clip below, and don’t miss the first teaser of Beyoncé and Childish Gambino singing a cover of Elton John’s iconic “Can You Feel The Love Tonight?” We’re not crying, you’re crying.
And now, director Jon Favreau has released stunning new photos on his Twitter account, which sees the famous actors facing off with their live-action characters.
