Having announced herself with debut single ‘’Different Things’’ earlier this year, 21-year-old singer GRACEY has once again delivered, with ethereal latest single ‘’If You Loved Me’’.
The track is a striking, gently percolating mix of supple handclaps and effervescent beats, exploring the up-and-down nature of a relationship at the start of its decline, with GRACEY’s stunning vocals soaring through. The accompanying video – directed by Aidan Zamiri – is a hypnotic homage to the heart-breaking truths that lie within the song itself.
Speaking exclusively on the track, GRACEY told Wonderland: ‘’I wrote ‘If You Loved Me’ when I was in a really vulnerable place. It was a moment of realisation for me that came from both frustration and heartache. I was keen to create a video that experimented with the changing of my perspective, and was interested in using mirrors and other visual effects to represent this.’’
She continued: ‘’I had worked with Aidan on my first video ‘Different Things’ and instantly really connected with him – he’s an incredible director (and human), and is really great at helping to pull the ideas out of my head and make them reality. Working together has been so sick as I feel we are both able to be totally creative and free, with the main focus being just trying to convey the emotion in the song in the most visually interesting way we can. He truly is a dream.’’
