“Wanna act like a brat, wanna be so expensive/Think I wanna drink Moët with my breakfast/I’m so expensive in my head.” In her brand new track “Expensive,” London-based pop diva Foxgluvv laments lusting after a bouji lifestyle that she just can’t afford. Same hun, same.
Never have we felt so much solidarity to a song’s messaging, with the relatable tongue-in-cheek lyrics elevating the simmering synth-laded 80s pop track.
In the accompanying visuals, Foxgluvv mooches around an east London vintage store (in flashy garms, no less) with the help of her LGBT+ peers, including fabulous Dublin drag queen, Heiress Blackstone.
“I’m thankful that I took the plunge and allowed myself to be influenced by the music I grew up adoring, because ‘Expensive’ feels as though I’ve arrived at a point in my career that I never thought I’d reach – especially a few years ago when I was struggling with finding my musical identity,” explains Foxgluvv. “This song in particular marks an elevated change in my sound and my artistry where I’m fully embracing being a queer pop artist and allowing myself to explore my sonic influences fully – I’m so proud and excited to share the rest of my new music in 2019.”
