MIGHTY HOOPLA

The larger-than-life pop collective have curated their ultimate jolly Christmas playlist.

There’s no avoiding it now, Christmas is well and truly en route. And in case you haven’t noticed, ’tis very much the season to be jolly. So, luckily for you, your friends at Mighty Hoopla – a collaboration between club nights Sink the Pink and Guilty Pleasures – will be hosting their own Christmas Jumpergeddon party at Clapham’s Winterville, so festive vibes will be through the roof.

To get you into the spirit, they’ve compiled a very merry playlist…

Katy Perry – “Firework”

Fireworks are probably more associated with NYE but this is a ‘banger’ any day of week.

Kelly Rowland  & David Guetta – “When Loves Takes Over”

Child of Destiny hooks up with ageing Parisian DJ with devastating results.

Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris – “We Found Love”

We’re changing the words from “in a hopeless place” to ‘in a Jumpergeddon’ especially for our Christmas Jumper party…

Dua Lipa – “New Rules”

We always have a surfeit of female performers at Mighty Hoopla and are proud of it. Dua is our favourite new artist of recent years.

Mariah Carey – “All I Want For Christmas Is You”

Such an evergreen classic that you’d think it was written in 1928 not 1994.

The Waitresses – “Christmas Wrapping”

Covered by Kylie but the new wave original is still the best. From 1981 when rap was still in it’s infancy and Christmas raps embryonic.

Spice Girls – “2 Become 1”

This was huge when the Wannabe girls sang this at the first Hoopla festival in 2017 proving even Christmas Number ones sound amazing in June as well as December.

Mighty Hoopla’s Christmas Jumpergeddon is on 16 December in the Winterville Spiegeltent on Clapham Common. Tickets £10. winterville.co.uk
