JCRT: CUSTOM PLAID

Introducing a new way to make check look good.

Surfing from ear to ear, fashion tittle-tattle has it that design duo, Robert Tagliapietra and Jeffery Costello, have crafted an innovative array of plaid shirts, with movie titles and books from the past the core inspiration behind the pair’s latest dynamic range.

Following painstaking amounts of research, a round of applause goes to developments in technology, which ultimately changed their printing methods (they’ve been at it since 2005, though those in the UK could be forgiven for not being clued up). Just to put it out there, JCRT’s plaids are printed not woven, making production easier and faster.

Reflecting the arts inspo on the brand’s Instagram page, films like Time Bandit and stars such as Marlon Brando have all made appearances in recent posts. For the former, the respective shirt dibbles and dabbles with the same shades and blends of blue, red and yellow used on the movie’s poster.

Upon thinking about their go-to items for when the weather gets cold, they grabbed a few of their personal faves – books and movies – “and used them to create these plaids.” And this is how the making of the collection came to be. Into it? Get involved here.
