There are few voices that strike you so deeply when you first hear them that they quite literally take your breath away. Tamino Moharam Fouad – who goes by Tamino – has one of them.
The half Egyptian, half Belgian, 20 year old’s vocals are full of rich intensity and a mesmerising melancholy that will haunt you long after you’ve finished listening. With a chilling falsetto, that has drawn comparison to Muse frontman Matt Bellamy, there is a certain mystery to Tamino’s sound and his self-titled debut EP, which was released via Unday Records earlier this year, is five tracks of pure magic.
Now releasing the video to EP fave “Cigar”, his eerily beautiful music is reflected perfectly in the accompanying visuals. Following the nighttime activities of a skeleton, we see him explore various dark corners of a city in an instantly compelling and wildly moving narrative. Creepy and captivating, the video is almost impossible to take your eyes off of and wonderfully illustrates Tamino’s own exhilarating songwriting and creativity.
