LFWM: Liam Hodges SS18

A new Fila collab steals the show.

Fila’in it

Teaming up with Fila for his SS18 collection, Liam Hodges used a variety of achieve pieces from Fila’s rich heritage, uniting the stitching technique that he’s become synonymous with and Fila’s instantly recognisable colour-blocking. Throwing in an additional edge, slogans brandishing words such as “FASTER FASTER FASTER” and “NOISE” appeared sporadically throughout. Overall, the collection appeared to champion utilitarianism, with re-imaged silhouettes and a plethora of textures throughout.

Don’t Touch My Hair

Hair gel must have been used in the bucket load for Liam Hodges SS18 runway show. Paying homage to your 2009 emo phase, as well as featuring the iconic semi-cut-fringe-with-the-hair-glued-to-face-look (trust us, you’ll all be rocking it by the end of Summer), the hair styling definitely sought to catch our attention – and that they did! Could Hodges’ next collaboration be with Shockwaves? We wouldn’t be surprised!

The Bear

It seems that every season, young designers try and bring something new, unique and unimaginable to their fashion week shows (remember Charles Jeffrey’s mushroom character?), and this time round it was Hodges that sought to serve up a taste of the outlandish; manifesting in a giant bear which made the rounds at BFC’s Showspace as the final look of the collection. The designer himself later joined the ted on the runway for the finale.
