FRAME × BEN GORHAM

The pair collaborate on new menswear collab, ‘Away From His Hands’.

For their first menswear specific collaboration, FRAME designers Jens Grede and Erik Torstensson have produced a Ready to Wear collection that boasts subtle hints of classic Americana without going as far as to become a costume (denim is, after all, a US staple). Titled ‘Away From His Hands’, the capsule line-up sees the London-Los Angeles label partnering up with Ben Gorham, traditionally a perfumer (the Byredo fragrances are his work) and like Grede and Torstensson, originally from Sweden.

Worn-in leather and frayed faded T-shirts make for accents in a collection that otherwise boasts distressed and patchwork jackets, while palette wise the offering is sparingly bereft of colour, focussing on the texture of the materials or opting for simple monochrome and traditional, natural fabrics like cotton, denim and leather.

For his part Gorham explored America’s youth focused ranch life subcultures, while elsewhere the rodeo inspiration is offset and modernised with soft jersey and hoodies. This is a collection inspired by modern “country”, no Elvis or Dolly Parton references, and definitely no rhinestones if you please.
